1) You Use Cardio To Burn Fat
At some point in your life I’m sure a personal trainer somewhere has lead you to believe that the way to get a lean, flat stomach is to spend hours running on a treadmill or some other piece of boring cardio equipment.
If getting lean were as straightforward as lacing up your shoes and hopping on the treadmill for 2 hours each day, I’m sure we’d all be fit as a fiddle. But unfortunately, it’s not that simple.
Intense exercise leads to intense cravings. After the work is done many people end up eating more calories than they burned without even knowing it. In the end, you’re left with a slow but painful increase in health problems and weight gain.
Why? The calories burned off during long, boring cardio sessions don’t offset your post-exercise binge.
To put it into perspective, an hour sweating and suffering away on the treadmill burns off the same number of calories found in a small Starbucks muffin. Brutal.
So, when it comes to real weight loss, more cardio is not the answer. You don’t need to grind it out on the Stairmaster or powerlift with the gym rats to achieve remarkable results.
Exercise should not be about “burning off” calories or torturing yourself.
It’s about developing tasteful, sexy muscle tone while keeping your body as stress free and relaxed as possible. I’m sure we can all agree that sounds pretty ideal.

2) You Spend WAY Too Much Time Exercising
Spending any more than 60-90 minutes exercising per week is a waste of time. Those who exercise too much see little to no results, or even REVERSE their progress.
But how is this possible? Wouldn’t spending MORE time in the gym result in MORE results?

While it seems that would be the case, countless scientific studies prove otherwise.

When we exercise we put our bodies under stress. This stress releases a catabolic hormone called cortisol.
Putting your body under this stress for a short time results in weight loss, lean muscle development and improves your immunity. But having too much cortisol circulating through your veins for too long will result in the opposite. Yep, you heard right.
Too much exercise = weight gain
Basically, too much cortisol will result in the breaking down muscle tissue and some nasty weight gain. Especially around the midsection.
If a fitness guru tells you that you should be spending more time in the gym, the unfortunate truth is they were probably lying to you in order to keep their industry (which is mostly fuelled by the sick and overweight) alive and thriving.
Don’t believe me? Remember, most personal trainers and nutritionists are paid BY THE HOUR…
… NOT by how much weight you lose, how much muscle you build, or how good you feel in general.
And so, if they told you to spend less time in the gym, they’d get a substantial pay cut. Plain and simple.
Moral of the story, don’t buy into the crap any personal trainer or so-called “health professional” tries to feed you. 60-90 minutes per week should be the MOST time you ever spend in the gym.

3) You Think Eating Bland, Tasteless Food Will Make Up For Ineffective Exercise
